Conrad L. Chouinard Jr., 65

Swampscott, Ma — Mr. Conrad, L. Chouinard Jr., 65, of Swampscott, died suddenly at home on Saturday, August 17, 2013. He was the husband of Mrs. Madeline T. (Fountain) Chouinard. He was born in Beverly,and was the son of the late Conrad and Jessie (Krzesinska) Chouinard. He was raised in Beverly and was a 1965 graduate of Beverly High School, where he was a standout football player. He was also a graduate of Bentley College.

Conrad was a U.S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam War. He served as a regular Army enlistee with the 609th Transportation Company. He received the Viet Nam Service Medal with three bronze stars, the Viet Nam Campaign Medal, and an Army commendation medal. Conrad enjoyed sea glassing and making crafts from sea glass. He was a follower of Drum and Bugle Corps, and was involved in the Swampscott School Band. He was involved in Swampscott Youth Hockey and coached girls softball in town. He was a Swampscott Town Meeting member for many years. Conrad was also a Civil War buff and an avid New England sports fan. He was employed as a distribution manager for Alcoa Industries for 20 years, prior to that, he worked at the former First National Stores for many years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be missed by all.

In addition to his wife, Madeline, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage, he leaves a daughter, Leah Anne Antaya and her husband, Brian, of Swampscott; a granddaughter, Eva Rose Antaya; a brother, Martin S. Chouinard and his wife, Lisa, of Danvers; a sister, Sandra Beth Hurd of Loudon, N.H., and brother-in-law of the late Fred Hurd.; and several nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held on Thursday, August 22, at 11 a.m., in the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean Street, Route 1A, Lynn.
