Marblehead — Leon Louis Pappas, 62, son of the late George L. Pappas and Helen I. Pappas, all formerly of Marblehead, passed away Wednesday morning, August 21, after suffering a heart attack.
Leon attended the Star of the Sea School, Marblehead Junior and Senior High School, and was a graduate of Essex Agricultural Institute. He was a member of the Armed Forces, having enlisted in the United States Air Force. Leon was a jack of all trades throughout his adult life, working at many occupations. He enjoyed shooting darts and playing cards with his friends as well as being an avid reader.
Leon is survived by a sister, Julie Chamovich and her husband, Seymore, a sister, Linda Antonio and her husband, Charlie, all of Byfield, and a brother, Robert Pappas and his wife, Claire, of Marblehead. He is also survived by nephews, Jason, Tommy, and David Chamovich, and nephews, Christopher, and Kyle Gordon, and Stephen Pappas. He was also the uncle of the late Amanda Antonio Foote.
ARRANGEMENTS: A graveside service will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Cemetery, 140 Lafayette St., Marblehead on Wednesday, August 28, at 11 a.m. All are welcome.
