Barbara E. Rigol, 85


Danvers — Mrs. Barbara E. Rigol, 85, of Danvers and formerly of Hamilton, passed away on Friday at The Atrium at Danvers. Born and raised in Swampscott, she was the daughter of the late Celia and Dwight Merton. Barbara graduated from Lynn English High School and went on to study at Salem State College. For many years, she was a teacher at St. Ann School in Gloucester. A former longtime resident of Hamilton, where she resided for over 50 years, she was active with The Community House of Hamilton & Wenham, serving as director. She loved spending time outdoors, playing tennis, cross country skiing, but mostly enjoyed time spent with family. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles M. Rigol. She is survived by her sons, David C. Rigol and his wife, Donna, of Wilkesbarre, Pa., and Paul M. Rigol and his wife, Susan, of Rowley; her grandchildren, Frank, Katie, Sarah, Emmy, and Derek; seven great-grandchildren; and several nephews and a niece. She was predeceased by her sisters, Frances, Edith, Alice, and Phyllis.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral Services will be held in the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited to attend, and may visit with her family prior to the service from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery.
