Peabody MA — Elmira Ruth (Hill) Bernasky, 79, of Peabody, formerly of Pennsylvania, died on September 3, 2013, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a long illness.
A woman of valor, who despite a lifelong struggle with serious health issues, raised five devoted children and took great joy in the accomplishments of her four loving grandchildren. She was an active member of the Mothers of Twins Club, now Mothers of Multiples. She loved flowers, was a devoted homemaker, an excellent cook, baker, and a good friend.
The beloved wife of Sylvester J. Bernasky of Peabody, she was the devoted mother of Leonard Bernasky of Newark, Del., Robert “Bob” Bernasky of Peabody, Lynn M. Bernasky of Placerville, Calif., Edward Bernasky and his wife, Doreen, of Stockton, N.J., and Lisa A. Ryan and her husband, Richard, of Topsfield. She was the cherished grandmother of Paige, Jill and Matthew Ryan of Topsfield, and Ryan Bernasky of Stockton. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Emma (Walker) Hill, and the sister of the late Peggy Carothers, and Hazel, Catherine, Theodore, and Dwight Hill.
ARRANGEMENTS: A visitation will be held on Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her Funeral Service will be held there on Friday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
