John Joseph "Jack" Forry


Lynn — Mr. John Joseph Forry, 76, of Lynn, known to his family and friends as “Jack,” died suddenly on Saturday morning in Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of Maryclare (Luby) Forry, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn, Jack was the son of the late Mark and Nora (Revins) Forry. He attended St. Mary’s Grammar School and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Boy’s High School, Class of 1954. He later attended Merrimack College, graduating in 1959. Prior to his retirement in 2003, Jack was employed by the Department of Transitional Assistance as a social worker supervisor, a position he held for 41 years. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, and was a member of Valladolid Council #70 Knights of Columbus. He was a great walker, who enjoyed walks around Pine Grove, and an avid reader, especially of things political. Above all, he loved the time spent with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his two children, Julie Forry and her husband, Andreas Grawe of Lynn, and Mark Forry and his husband, Kevin Fitzgerald of Dorchester; four sisters, Ann Glowik and her husband, Edward, of Lynn, Mary Calnan and her husband, Frank, of Middleton, Theresa Sadowski and her husband, John, of Middleton, and Catherine Lowry of Lynn; one brother-in-law, Walter Donovan of Lynn; his grandson, Liam Grawe; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Margaret “Peggy” Donovan.

ARRANGEMENTS: Jack’s Funeral will be held from the Cuffe-McGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Thursday, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
