Lynn, Ma — Mr. Paul L. Fortucci, 91, of Lynn, died on Thursday, September 12, 2013, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Philomena (Paoline) Fortucci, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. He was born and raised in Lynn, and was the son of the late Alfredo and Adalgisa (Bacci) Fortucci. He was a 1939 graduate of Lynn Classical High School. Mr. Fortucci lived in Lynn all of his life.
Mr. Fortucci worked for GTE Sylvania for 33 years, retiring in 1984. He began his career at Sylvania as an electrician, and retired as a research and development engineer.
He was a Coast Guard veteran of WWII, and served from 1942 to 1946, as an electronics technician in the central and southwest Pacific. He was an avid sailor and a longtime member of the Volunteer Yacht Club. He also enjoyed making furniture. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 70 in Lynn. Mr. Fortucci was a devoted and loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his two sons, Paul A. Fortucci of Lynn, Richard J. Fortucci and his wife, Helen, of Lynn; two grandchildren, Sarah and Steven Fortucci; and several nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Palmira Baressi, Dora Nohelty, Virgil, Carl, Alfred, and Raymond Fortucci.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 18, at 8 a.m., in the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, followed by graveside services in Pine Grove Cemetery at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Memorial visiting hours are on Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m.
