Danvers — Eleanor B. (Shackelford) Moore, 96, formerly of Gloucester, died Monday, October 21, 2013, at the Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Danvers.

Born in Gloucester on July 17, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Olive (Sylvester) Shackelford.

Eleanor was employed as a dietitian for many years at the Addison Gilbert Hospital.

She was a member of the former Riverdale United Methodist Church. She enjoyed doing crafts and was also a wonderful seamstress, having made many wonderful items for family members. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lois Darcy Croft and Derrell Croft of Florida, Judith and Maurice “Steve” Stephens of Danvers, Nancy Fortunato of Florida; two sons and a daughter-in-law, George Moore of Beverly, Robert and Nancy Moore of Danvers; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty, wife of Kenneth Reed of Georgia; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Roger and Robert Shackelford; one sister, Anna Amaral; and her son-in-law, Richard Fortunato.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held on Friday morning in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
