Ellen Peura, 77


Peabody, MA — Ellen Lois (Ferguson) Peura, age 77, of Peabody, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport, following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Peura, and the daughter of the late Robert and Hazel (Odiorne) Ferguson.

Born and raised in Lynn, she was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. She worked for many years as an assembler for New England Carbide as well as Parker Bros. in Salem. She later worked in retail for T.J. Maxx Co.

She enjoyed playing cards. Singing while her husband Kenneth played the guitar and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a volunteer for the former J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Peura and his wife Joanne of Newburyport, her sisters, Janet Dalton and her husband David of Somersworth, NH and Linda Ryan and her husband Bob of Groveland and her brother Thomas Ferguson and his wife Ellen of New Durham, NH. She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Chris Peura and his wife Nicole of Rowley, Craig Peura and his wife Laura of Wakefield and Amanda Peura of Newburyport, and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held in the Solimine, Landergan & Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, (Route 129), Lynn on Friday, October 25, 2013, at 1PM. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visitation will be from 11AM – 1PM. Directions and guest book, www.solimine.com.
