Beverly — Georgette (Drouin) Pratt, 93, beloved wife of the late William Pratt, a Swampscott firefighter who died in the line of duty in 1946, died Monday, October 21, 2013, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Albertine (Pelletier) Drouin. She was raised in Swampscott and graduated from Swampscott High School, class of 1939. She continued her education at beauty school and later opened a home beauty parlor.
Mrs. Pratt had been employed for many years at the United Shoe Machine Corp. in Beverly.
Surviving her are her grandchildren, William Pratt of Danvers and Brian Pratt and his wife, Kelly, of Danvers; three great-grandchildren, Lydia Anne Hanson, Emily Anne Pratt and Braeden J. Pratt and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Michael J. Pratt and his late wife, Anne Marie (Poor) Pratt, sister of the late Cecile DuPont, Carmen Hatch, Rene Drouin and Roche Drouin and grandmother of the late Bradley C. Pratt.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of St. Paul, 50 Union St., Hamilton, Monday, October 28, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in the Hamilton Cemetery. As requested there will be no visiting hours. Arrangements by the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly.
