Maine & Danvers — Gordon R. Tilton, 67, of Cape Neddick, Maine and formerly of Danvers, passed away peacefully with family at his side on October 28, 2013. He was the husband of Pearl (Raymond) Tilton with whom he shared thirty-three years of marriage.
Born in Danvers and raised in Beverly, Gordon was the son of the late William and Shirley (Folsom) Tilton. Gordon was an entrepreneur and was founder of many companies, including Tilton Fuel and Tilton’s Towing. For many years he worked as a Real Estate Broker with Potter & Thomson. Gordon was a family man and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Whenever a helping hand was needed, he was always there, no questions asked. Through the years he loved his dogs, Mariah, Tobey, and Shatzee. He had a heart of gold and will be sadly missed.
Besides his wife, Gordon leaves a daughter, Christine Masiello and her husband, Carmine, of Salisbury; a son, Garry E. Tilton and his wife, Samantha, of Malden; a step-son, Kenneth M. Walsh and his wife, Melody, of Groveland; two brothers, Richard and his wife, Jo-Ann, of Georgetown and Raymond and his wife, Sally, of Beverly. He was grandfather to Carmine, Casey, Benjamin, Janelle, Joanna and Megan. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins. His brother, Rev. Bill Tilton, predeceased him in 1983.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m. in the Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, 16 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA.
