Esther Cowan, 82


Swampscott — Esther (Amsellem) Cowan, 82, of Swampscott, formerly of Beverly, entered into rest on November 4, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Harold Cowan. Born in Algeria, she was the dear daughter of the late Isaac and Semha (Perez) Amsellem.

In addition to her husband, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage, she is survived by two sons, Arnie Cowan and his wife, Nancy, of Beverly, and Bob Cowan and his wife, Deb, of North Andover. She was the loving sister of David Amsellem and his wife, Rose, of Lady Lake, Fla.; and cherished grandmother of Jacob, Adri, Amanda, and Spencer Cowan.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at Temple B’Nai Abraham, 200 East Lothrop Street, Beverly, on Thursday, November 7, at 11 a.m. Interment at Sons of Abraham Cemetery, Beverly. A memorial observance will be held following the interment until 8 p.m., and on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m., at the home of Arnie and Nancy.
