Jacquelin B. Benner

Marblehead, MA — Mrs. Jacquelin B. Benner, age 85, of Marblehead, died Saturday evening in Massachusetts General Hospital after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Willis Wentzell. Jacqui was born in Lynn, MA on Dec. 27, 1927 to Alexander Bissett and Ruth McCowan Bissett.

Jacqui attended Lynn schools graduating from Lynn English. She was most recently employed by the John Foley Tennis Club from where she recently retired after 38 years of service. The Jacquelin B. Benner Friendship Lounge was named in her honor. She was a longtime member of the Church of St. Andrew and Eastern Star. She enjoyed keeping up with the many friends she made over the years. Jacqui never forgot a name or a face.

Jacqui was predeceased by her first husband Gordon Benner and second husband Willis Wentzell and children Lynn and Mark Wentzell. Her sister Ruth Glenn and husband Martin.

She is survived by her brother Alex and his wife Gayle. Her niece Jacquelin Bissett, husband Dan Lyons and their daughter Olivia. Her niece Jennifer Faller, husband Mike and their daughter Lexi. Her niece Linda Irons, husband Richard and their children Richard, Michael, Salli, Laurie, Kathryn, William, and Kayla. Her niece Jacquelin Bartlett, husband Robert and their children Edward, Tessa and Shannon.

Jacqui is also survived by a son Willis Wentzell, wife Pam their children and granddaughters Kimberly Perry and Amy Cacali. She will be greatly missed by her many great-nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren. Jacqui will be truly missed by all who knew her, she had a strong wit, a zest for life and she was a true friend to all.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her Memorial Service will be held in the Church of St. Andrew, 135 Lafayette St., Marblehead on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. There will be a gathering immediately after the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Church of St. Andrew.
