Marblehead — Mrs. Margaret Mary “Peg” (Brown) Harvey, 87 years, died Friday, October 12, 2012, in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Charles A. “Bud” Harvey of Swampscott and Marblehead. Mrs. Harvey was born in North Adams, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Rufus and Margaret (Heggie) Brown. She was raised in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams. She was a bachelor of science recipient from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, class of 1946. She moved to Swampscott and Marblehead area in 1946.
Prior to raising her family, Mrs. Harvey was a lab technician in Salem Hospital and the former Lynn Hospital and also volunteered at Salem Hospital for many years. She was a member of First Church in Swampscott, Congregational for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing Bridge and traveling. Mostly she loved her seven wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband with whom she shared 63 years of marriage she leaves a son, Robert Harvey and his wife Kathleen of Fremont, NH, two daughters, Susan Carmody and her husband Daniel of South Deerfield, MA and Carol Desrosier and her husband Edward of Marblehead, her grandchildren Elizabeth Sidlowski, Douglas Harvey, Jill Garrison, Edward Desrosier, Joan Carmody, Janet Perrotta and Daniel Carmody, her four great-grandchildren, Ava, “CJ,” Addison and Reagan. Mrs. Harvey also predeceased a twin son Richard.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, AT 10:00 AM in the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean Street (Rte 1A), Lynn.
