Lynn — Mrs. Mary C. (Savino) Hanson, age 76, of Lynn, formerly of Nahant, died on Sunday, October 14, 2012, surrounded by her loving family at Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Beverly, after a brief illness. She was the wife of Ronald Hanson, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. Born in Lynn and raised in Nahant, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Maria “Mary” (DeFelice) Savino. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Girls High School and of the Chandler School, Boston. She had lived in Nahant and Lynn for the majority of her life.
Mary had worked as a secretary at GE, the Nahant Public Schools, and the unemployment office.
She loved to cook and entertain and spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, and dancing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Michael Hanson and his wife Arlene, of Peabody, and Mark Hanson and his wife Celina, of Tewksbury; her brothers and sisters, her twin Antoinette DiLisio and her husband Vincent, of Swampscott, Donald Savino Jr. and his wife Helen, of Nahant, William “Gov” Savino and his wife Pauline, of Florida, Rose LaRochelle and her husband Leo, of Florida, Richard Savino, of Swampscott, and James Savino and his wife Karen, of Nahant; four grandchildren, Elissa and Matthew Hanson, Shaina Licker, and Alexander Hanson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Solimine Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Rte. 1A), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Nahant. Burial will be in Swampscott Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
