Marshall E. Whitestone, 78


Topsfield — Mr. Marshall E. Whitestone, of Topsfield, formerly of Beverly, passed away Sunday at Beverly Hospital. He was 78. Born in Gardner, he was the son of the late Max and Francis (Abelson) Whitestone. An honorably discharged veteran, he served in the Air Force and went on to study at the Berkley College of Music. A jazz enthusiast, he enjoyed playing the saxophone and played occasionally with several bands. Mr. Whitestone retired from Boston Volvo as a salesman and also enjoyed time spent outdoors playing golf, bicycling and skiing.

He is survived by his son, Jay M. Whitestone and his wife Rachel of East Walpole; his daughter, Bethany D. Hallinan and her husband Sean of Amesbury; his six grandchildren, Max, Emma and Molly Whitestone and Jake, Avery and McKenna Hallinan; a brother, Benett Whitestone of California and the late Malcolm Whitestone.
