HAVERHILL — Sheila J. (Gallant) Doty, 73, of Gile Street, Haverhill, and longtime resident of Ipswich, died Friday, October 26, 2012, in her home following a sudden illness. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Doty.
She was born February 22, 1939, in Ipswich, the daughter of the late Ernest and Evelyn M. (Quinn) Gallant. She was raised in Ipswich and was a graduate of Ipswich High School. For more than twenty years she was employed at A.W. Chesterton Co. in Groveland. She enjoyed yarn crafts, reading mystery novels, family camping in the White Mountains, and playing with her beloved dog Callie.
She is survived by three sons, Stephen Comeau and his wife Terry of New Jersey, Michael Comeau and his wife Dijana of Wisconsin and Bretley R. Burnett and his wife Jackie of Wenham, as well as four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, November 12, 2012, with a funeral service at noon in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions in Sheila's name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
