Beverly — Mr. Burdett Lee-Webster “Burt” Day, 72, formerly of Swampscott and Jackson, N.H., died on Monday, March 4, 2013, with his family at his side, after a lengthy illness at the Essex Park Rehab, Beverly.
Born and raised in Brentwood, N.H., he was the son of the late George Albert Day Jr. and Ruth Sophia (Erickson) Day.
A Master Electrician, he was the owner of Day Electric, serving the North Shore and Boston areas for over 30 years.
He enjoyed gardening, playing darts, skiing, collecting antiques, walking the beach, and working as an electrician. He was an avid blood donor for the American Red Cross, and a frequent donator of items to the Jackson, N.H., Historical Society. He also enjoyed working on his properties in downtown Jackson, and building his dream house, which unfortunately he was unable to complete due to his sudden illness.
Burt is survived by a son, Christopher B. Day, and his wife Margaret, of Fitchburg; three daughters, Laura Lee Day Robollo and her husband Carlos, of Florida; Lisa J. Reid, of Salem and her former husband William Reid, of N.H., and Linda J. Cleary, of Boxford; seven grandchildren, Heather Reid, Corinne Reid, Daniel Cleary, Rebecca Cleary, Nathan Cleary, Madilyn Day and Ethan Day; a great-grandson, Mathus Barratt; his brothers and sisters, Jean, Joan, Nancy, Albert, and Eric Day, and Janet Ventullo; his former wife Mary (Pennock) Day, of Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Jeff and Charles Day.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the SOLIMINE LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 67 OCEAN ST. (Route 1A), LYNN. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Directions and guest book at www.solimine.com
