Donald Fyfe Macfadyen, 75


SALEM — Mr. Donald Fyfe Macfadyen, aged 75, of 1 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, passed away on March 5, 2013 at his home. He was the owner of Olde Naumkeag Antiques in Salem.

He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Burgoyne and her husband, William; his grandchildren, William, Stephen and Jennifer; his sister, Jean Simmons and her husband, Forrest; his brother Duncan Macfadyen; and his son, Ross and his former wife, Carla Strom.

He was raised and educated in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School in 1955. Don attended Dartmouth College and graduated from Merrimack College with a B.A.B.S Degree.

Don had been employed by Lumber Mutual for many years and retired from Electric Mutual. He began Olde Naumkeag Antiques of Salem in retirement and operated the business for 19 years. Don enjoyed antiquing, sports and travel. He was a fine man who will be missed by family and friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering which will be held in the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem on Sunday, March 10, from 3 to 5 p.m. Assisting the family with the arrangements is The O’Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Square (At Salem Common), Salem.
