Boleslaw J. Jodz, Jr., 93, of Ipswich passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Essex Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Beverly after a short illness.
He was born in Ipswich on January 7, 1919, the son of the late Boleslaw J. Jodz Sr. and Mary Amelia Jodz. Boleslaw was a lifelong resident of Ipswich. He attended Ipswich schools and was a member of the Sacred Heart Polish Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He worked for 40 years at the United Shoe Machinery Corp. in Beverly as a steel hardener. Bill was an avid golfer for many years at the Candlewood Golf Club in Ipswich and the Ould Newbury Golf Club in Newbury.
Boleslaw is survived by his wife of 69 years Mary A. Jodz of Ipswich, his 2 sons: William V. Jodz and his wife Aline of Rowley, Ronald P. Jodz and his wife Rachel of Wakefield, NH. He is also survived by his sister Evelyn Mistkowski of Ipswich. Boleslaw has 6 grandchildren: Jennifer Mercer of NJ, Amy Vitteli of CO, Lisa Chase of NV, Billy Jodz of Rowley, Nathan Jodz and Stephanie Jodz both of Wakefield, NH. Boleslaw has 4 great-grandchildren: Stella Vitelli of CO, Elijah Jodz, Daisy Jodz and Aubrey Jodz all of Rowley.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 26th, at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 52 Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Burial will be in the New Highland Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich following the funeral Mass. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, April 25th, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Morris Funeral Home 45 North Main Street, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
