Largo, FL — Carl Eugene Goodridge, 73, of Largo, Fla., passed away after a brief illness at Morton Plante Hospital in Clearwater, Fla., on Friday, August 23, 2013. Carl, formerly of Peabody, Mass., was the son of Gertrude and Lester Goodridge. He is survived by his two sons, Mark Goodridge of Leominster, Mass., and Scott Goodridge of Keller, Texas; three adopted sons, Stephen Trowbridge of Boca Raton, Fla., Alan Trowbridge of Florida, and Tommy Trowbridge of Denton, Texas; and one stepson, Scotty Swan from Clarksville, Tenn.; two brothers, Lester Goodridge of Acton, Mass., and Alan Goodridge of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, MaryEllen Goodridge of Las Vegas, Nev. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patti Goodridge, on June 21, 2012.
Carl owned his own company installing burglar and fire alarms until his retirement in 2004. He served in the Army as a Military Police Officer from 1960-1963. He also loved the fire department, as his father was a Peabody, Mass. firefighter. He was an active member at the Elks Lodge in Peabody, Mass., and Seminole, Fla. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 1 p.m., at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody, Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
