Amesbury — Raymond S. Judd, 79, of Amesbury, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill. Raymond was born in Beverly, Mass., to the late Milton R. and Sylvia (Fredriksen) Judd. Mr. Judd was a high school teacher for over 30 years, teaching business classes until his retirement in the early 1990s. Raymond was very active with the Planning and Zoning Commission from 1976 to 1978 and was president of the Nonnewaug Teacher's Association from 1984 to 1987, as well as a Democratic Candidate, First Selectman. Raymond also served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. During his retirement, Raymond traveled to Europe and continued his passion of playing golf with his friends and colleagues. In 2010, he moved to Amesbury to be closer to his children and new grandson, with whom he developed a strong bond.
Raymond is survived by his children, Eric S. Judd and Kristen Davis and her husband, Jack; his grandson, Jayden Davis; and his sister-in-laws, Mary Lou Judd and Edna Judd; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his brothers, Milton R. Jr. and Kenneth Judd.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday, September 6, at 10a.m., in the Merton E. Roberts Jr. and Conte Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. Interment will be private. Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the funeral home.
