Danvers — Mr. Robert W. Starratt, 88, of Danvers, beloved husband of the late Dorothy May (Hatch) Starratt, died May 14, 2013, at the Atrium in Danvers, surrounded by his family.
Born in Saugus, he was the son of the late William and Elsa Starratt. He was raised and educated in Saugus. Mr. Starratt graduated from the General Electric Apprenticeship program. He continued his education at Northeastern University and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
An honorably discharged veteran, Robert served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during World War II.
Mr. Starratt had a long and successful career with the General Electric Company for over 39 years until the time of his retirement.
A resident of the Town of Danvers for over 50 years, Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. He was dedicated to his family, his profession and his country.
Robert is survived by his sons, Jeffrey B. Starratt of Danvers, and Mark W. Starratt of Peabody; his grandchildren, Bryan Starratt, Chad Starratt and Jenna Starratt; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Marilyn Celeste.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St. (Route 62), Danvers, Friday, May 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. His funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. at the conclusion of the visiting hours.
