Salem — Mrs. Natalie S. (Shuran) Barker, of Salem, died early Tuesday morning, September 18, 2012. Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Brygadeer) Shuran. Natalie lived her adult life in Old Greenwich, Conn. where she raised a family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Tracy Barney of Phoenix, and Marcy Barker of North Andover with her husband Michael Morrill. She has three grandsons, Christopher Barney and Andrew and Brian Barker-Morrill.
Natalie graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Chemistry. Prior to her retirement, she worked as an Analytical Chemist. She began her career at the Cyanamid Corporation and worked many years at the Canada Dry Corporation where she managed the Quality Control Laboratory.
Natalie was an expert bridge player and an avid reader of books. She was a gardener who spent many hours outside in her yard and garden. In later life, she loved to travel. She enjoyed and supported all the arts. especially the performing arts, as she particularly enjoyed opera and ballet.
