Danvers — David N. Harris Sr., 83, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on June 17, 2013, following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Helen (Jeremsek) Harris.
Born on April 7, 1930, in Danvers, he was the son of the late Walter and Meriel (Miller) Harris. David was a lifelong resident of Danvers and a graduate from Holten High School.
He served with the National Guard. David had been employed with Osram Sylvania for many years as a equipment specialist. He was also a member of the former Calvary Episcopal Church in Danvers. David was a generous and loving father and grandfather and was able to fix anything.
He is survived by his three children and their spouses, David and Kathleen Harris Jr. of Danvers, Heather and Kevin Casey of Haverhill, and Jennifer and Bill Gilligan of Beverly; seven grandchildren, Ashley and Nicole Harris and Joseph Williams, Erin and Rachel Casey and Patrick Mackenzie and Trevor Gilligan; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by all his siblings, Edgar, Bill and Warren Harris and Eleanor Teal.
ARRANGEMENTS: His Funeral Service will be held graveside in Walnut Grove Cemetery at 10 a.m, on Saturday June 22. Visiting hours are Wednesday, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m., at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
