BEVERLY — Benjamin Allen Roberts, 93, beloved husband of Mildred “Millie” (Drinan) Roberts, passed away Tuesday, March 4, at Beverly Hospital. Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Edward C. and Maude (Allen) Roberts.
Benjamin was a lifelong resident of Beverly and a graduate of Beverly High School. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and Korea. Benjamin was a carpenter for many years and a member of the Local Carpenter’s Union. He was an avid outdoorsman, a lover of hunting, fishing and a member of the Danvers Fish and Game for over 40 years.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by his five children, Mary Laskowski and her husband, Paul, of Ipswich, Barbara Reitano of Merrimac, James Roberts of Peabody, Nancy Kumph and her husband, Phillip, of Andover and Thomas Roberts of Beverly; three grandchildren, Justin and Kendra Kumph and Alyson Reitano. He was predeceased by his sister, Martha Barrow.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Service will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 9 Dane Street, Downtown Beverly on Friday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visiting hour will be held prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Central Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Benjamin’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
