Marguerite Goutzos, 84


Peabody, MA — Mrs. Marguerite R. Goutzos, 84, of Peabody, died peacefully on Wednesday March 12, at her home. She was the wife of the late Charles Goutzos, with whom she shared 48 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Anastasia (Harris) Lember. She attended schools in Lynn, and graduated from Classical High School, Class of 1948. Mrs. Goutzos moved to Peabody in 1952, when she married her husband and had resided in Peabody since. She enjoyed cooking and doing yard work. A devoted mother and grandmother, she loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Diana Lefave and her companion, Anthony Sanders of Peabody, and Elaine and her husband, Robert Killilea of Peabody; one brother, Chester Lember of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister-in-law, Flora Goutzos of Salem; two grandchildren, Charles Lefave of Raleigh, N.C., and Achilles Sanders of Peabody; and several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Michael Goutzos.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St., Lynn, on Wednesday from 11 to 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m., to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
