A. Dorothea (Day) Cook, 97


Beverly — Mrs. A. Dorothea (Day) Cook, 97, of Beverly, formerly of Lynn, passed away on Saturday, in a local nursing home, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late James L. Cook.

Born in Lynn, Dorothea was the daughter of the late Harold F. and Ellen F. (McDonald) Day. She attended Lynn schools, and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1934.

Prior to her marriage, she worked at G.E. in West Lynn. Dorothea loved to travel. But she most especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothea leaves her daughter, Donna Mezoff of New Hampshire. She was the cherished grandmother to Tiffany Linstad, Marissa Mezoff and Andrew Mezoff; and the loving great-grandmother to Bruce, Victoria, Blake, Alexis, Kylie, and Elizabeth Linstad. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Dorothea’s Funeral will be held from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, on Thursday, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn.
