Beverly — Betsey J. (Young) Leydon, 56, of Beverly, died Thursday, March 20, 2014, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by her loving family, after a four year battle with cancer. Born in Whitman, MA, on October 4, 1957, she was the daughter of Barbara E. (Kennedy) Young of Peabody and the late Bert E. Young. Betsey grew up and was educated in Whitman, MA, a graduate of Whitman Hanson High School, Class of 1976. Betsey loved and enjoyed working for the United States Postal Service at the Post Office in South Boston for the past 15 years.
One of Betsey's favorite things was when she was spending time with her children and her grandchildren; those were special times. She had a very creative personality, she enjoyed doing crafts and going for long walks. She was a loving Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Patrick J. Leydon of Salem; her daughter, Jenna A. Leydon of Peabody; and her son, Scott E. Leydon of Salem; her two sisters, Carol Powers and her husband, Steven, of New York and Juanita Ellis of Florida; two grandchildren, Sophia M. Leydon and Alanna L. Zolla; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., North Beverly, Tuesday, March 25, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
