DANVERS — John H. Woods, 79, of Danvers, beloved husband of Esta (DiPaolo) Woods, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008 at Beth Israel deaconess Hospital in Boston.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Frederick E. and Edna (Cottle) Woods. He was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly Trade School.
An honorably discharged veteran, John served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Woods was the President of Beverly Pattern Inc. and a long time active member of the Calvary Episcopal Church in Danvers.
In addition to his loving wife of 52 years, John is survived by his son John D. Woods of Beverly and his daughter; Karen Modini and her husband Richard of Peabody; his grandchildren, Eric and Mark Woods, his sister, Mary Buck of Rochester, N.H.; his brother, Robert Woods of Bethesda Maryland and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Janice Woods and brother of the late Dorothy Vose, Charles D. Woods, George F. Woods and twin brother of the late Frederick E. Woods Jr.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in the Calvary Episcopal Church, Cherry St., Danvers, Monday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in North Beverly Cemetery.
