Methuen, MA — Blaine A. Gann, 60, a dedicated, lifelong educator and coach, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 5, 2014, after being stricken at home. Blaine was born in Roxbury, and raised and educated in Lawrence. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1971, where he played all sports and loved basketball. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in education from Lesley College in Boston. At the time of his passing, Blaine was a guidance counselor and recruiter for YouthBuild in Lawrence, and the head boys’ basketball coach at Presentation of Mary Academy in Methuen. He was previously employed at the Greater Lawrence Educational Collaborative as a vocational culinary instructor. Blaine was an avid golfer, enjoyed music, dining out, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife and life partner Suzanne T. (Robitaille) Gann of Methuen; children, twins, Simon and Jordan Gann; one daughter, Jamily Blaine Gann of Methuen; and one brother, James A. Gann of Francestown, N.H. Blaine was predeceased by infant twin daughters; and one brother, Jeffrey Gann.
