Lynn — Mr. Thomas A. Devine, age 87, of Lynn, died on Thursday April 24, 2014, at the Lifecare Center of the North Shore, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Marguerite P. (Hart) Devine.
A lifelong resident of Lynn, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ruth (Butler) Devine.
He had served in the Navy during World War II and then went to work for the GE as a machinist in Lynn.
He was a lifelong active Communicant of St. Joseph Parish, Lynn and a Honorary Life Member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Valladolid Council #70, Lynn, where he had been a member since 1949. He was also a member and Past Faithful Navigator of the Father Gabrielle Druillette Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Tom was a frequent volunteer at My Brother’s Table.
He is survived by a daughter, Diane Devine of Marblehead; a brother, James Devine; and a sister, Judith Grove. He was also the brother of the late Edward Arthur, and Francis “Pat” Devine, William and John Moynihan, and Regina LeFleur.
ARRANGEMENTS: His Funeral will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. from the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph (Lower) Church. Burial will be in Star of the Sea Cemetery, Marblehead. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
