Georgetown — Susan A. Meehan, 57, of Georgetown, and formerly of Marblehead, died on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of Doris H. (Monahan) Meehan of Marblehead, and of the late John J. Meehan Jr.
Susan received a bachelor’s degree from Simmons College. She was a software engineer at Lotus Development, and then was a patient advocate at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston. For the past two years, she was a quality control engineer for Extraprise Group, Inc. of Burlington.
Susan was a member of the Pink Warriors and of the Audubon Society. She loved to travel and visited several countries in all parts of the globe. She loved the arts and music, and especially loved the ocean.
In addition to her mother, she leaves three brothers, John J. Meehan III of Amesbury, Pete Meehan and his wife, Jeannie, of Seabrook, N.H., and Robert P. Meehan and his wife, Cathy, of Georgetown; five nieces and nephews, Julie Meehan of Mt. Laurel, N.J., John J. Meehan IV of Southampton, N.J., Colin Meehan of Exeter, N.H., Ryan Meehan of Exeter, and Kelly Meehan of Georgetown; and four grandnieces; and a grandnephew. She also leaves several aunts, uncles and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her memorial funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 9, at 10 a.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Marblehead. Burial will be in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. Relatives and friends are invited. Memorial visitation will be in the Eustis & Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead, on Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Susan G.
