Beverly — Dorothy E ( Ryan) Bianco, 98, devoted wife of the late F. Richard Bianco and longtime resident of Beverly, passed away quietly on May 1, 2014, after a short illness. She was born in Peabody, and was the youngest daughter of the late Maurice J. and Mary (Willet) Ryan. She was a graduate of Peabody High School. Dorothy was a longtime volunteer at Beverly Hospital, following a retail career at Newmark's and Johnny Appleseed's in Beverly. She could often be seen walking her beloved dog, Rex, at Lynch Park. Born in 1916, Dorothy was loving sister to the late Mrs. Chester (Helen Ryan) Swenki of Danvers, and Mrs. John (Frances Ryan) Maloney of Beverly, and aunt to the late Barbara (Maloney) Mitchell and John (Jack) Maloney Jr. She is survived by her eldest brother, Maurice S. Ryan of Santa Rancho Margarita, Calif.; three nieces, Janet Ryan of North Kingstown, R.I., Mrs. Nelson (Judy Ryan) Burrell of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Oren (Patricia Ryan) Brown of Foothill Ranch, Calif.; her cousin, Catherine Ryan of Danvers, Mass.; and her nephew, Robert Maloney and wife, Shirley, of Madison, Conn. In addition, she leaves nine grandnieces and grandnephews, Christina (Mitchell) Shellard of California, Jamie (Ryan) Libertoff of New Mexico, Anna Ryan Konkle of California, Tad and Kent (Ryan) Brown, all of California, Mrs Lorna (Maloney) Blais of Massachusetts, Noreen Maloney of Virginia, Brian Maloney of Connecticut, and Kevin Maloney of Virginia; and eight great-grandnieces and great-grandnephew in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
