Peabody — Alfred S. Graziano, 89, of Peabody, died on Monday, May 5, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla., following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Paulina (Cardinale) Graziano, with whom he shared over 67 years of marriage.
Born in East Boston, he was the son of the late Nicolantonio and Maria Felicia (DiChiara) Graziano. He was raised and educated in East Boston and had lived in Peabody for the past 40 years.
Al was employed with the City of Boston for many years at the Police Department and retired as supervisor of the parts department. Prior to his employment with the city of Boston, he manufactured and distributed Lisciva Bleaching Water in East Boston.
Following his retirement, he enjoyed many hours at the Peter A Torigian Community Life Center doing woodworking, among many other activities there. He also enjoyed playing pool and cribbage.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Mary Phyllis Downing, Francesca Graziano, Paula Valentine, and Alfred S. Graziano Jr.; his siblings, Michael “Tony” and John Graziano, and Mary Ciampa, and is also survived by nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Ralph Botticelli, Joseph and Nicholas Graziano, Elizabeth Parrella and Anna Insley.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Peter A.
