Alda C. Serpa, 81


Danvers, MA — Alda C. Serpa, 81, wife of Francisco Serpa, with whom she was married for 59 years, died Thursday, February 28th, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. Daughter of the late Armando Couto Brioso and Maria Dos Anjos Rita, she was born and raised in the Azores, Portugal. In 1968 Alda immigrated to the United States with her husband and five children. She was a talented seamstress and loved to read. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed everyone gathering at her home. Alda was kind and compassionate and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her family. She was loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Alda is survived by three daughters, Edith Serpa of Danvers; Grace Serpa and Kevin Flaherty of Boxford; Clara Kana and her husband Arnie of Dedham; two sons, Dinart Serpa of Beverly; Roy Serpa and his wife Stephanie of Wenham; one brother, Armando Couto of Montreal, Canada; ten grandchildren, Derek, Alex, Chris, Charlie, Ryan, Christina, Rachel, Kyle, Nicolas and Arianna. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Joyce Serpa.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant Street, Danvers, on Tuesday, March 5th, at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be at Campbell–Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location), on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Central Cemetery.
