John B. Pollard, 90


Ipswich, MA — Of Ipswich, formerly of Vero Beach, Fla., and Parsippany, N.J., on February 20. Beloved husband of the late Virginia (Bateman) Pollard.

He is survived by his daughter Gail P. Campbell of Ipswich and son John Pollard of Vero Beach, Fla. He has four grandchildren, Marie Dean of Beverly, Robert Campbell of Colorado, John Pollard of Kentucky, and Matthew Pollard of Florida. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.

He was born in Newark, N.J., and lived most of his life at his homestead of eight generations. He was a Marine in the Guadalcanal Front during World War II. He worked in management for Ford Motor Company. Retired to Vero Beach, Fla., and moved to Massachusetts after his beloved wife died.

ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service was held on March 1, 2013, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Beverly. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s name may be made to the Bedford Veteran’s Administration Hospital, GRECC Program, 200 Spring Road, Bedford, MA 01730.
