SALEM — Loretta C. Petit, age 93, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010 after a brief illness.
She lived in Salem most of her life, and her latter years at Apple Village Beverly. She had three sons, Donald and Roger of Danvers, and Mark of Salem. Her grandchildren, Justin (deceased), Jenelle, Allison, Joseph and Dylan, daughters-in-law, Martha and Jill, and godchild, Nancy Mysliwy, are going to miss her crafts and stories of days gone by.
She was an accomplished piano player, loved animals, especially cats, and playing cards (cribbage and whist). Loretta graduated second in her class at Coule St. Joseph's Salem.
She was an excellent cook and worked with her surviving sister, Rita Parker, at Flairs Cleaners in Beverly. She was also instrumental in founding North Shore Optical and Apex Optical in Salem. She joins her mother, Jeanne, and father, Alfred Michaud; brothers, Lucien, Romeo, Lionel, Albert, Wilfred; and sisters, Blanche and Annette, in Heaven. We miss her terribly; in lieu of flowers or donations, a brief prayer would be nice.
