Helen S. (Walsh) Tracy


Lynn — Mrs. Helen S. (Walsh) Tracy, 96, of Lynn, died on Monday evening in Union Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Edgar M. Tracy, with whom she had shared 64 years of marriage.

Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Helen was the daughter of the late Edward M. and Sarah A. (Jenkins) Walsh. She attended Lynn Schools, and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1935. She was a resident of Lynn for most of her life.

A faithful and dedicated member of the East Baptist Church, Helen was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was a bowling fanatic. She also enjoyed reading.

She leaves her children, Patricia A. Ayers and her husband, Paul, of Georgetown, Sandra E. Drew of Lynn, and John M. Tracy and his wife, Thelma E., of Weare, N.H. She was the grandmother of Deborah Ayers, Brenda Hajec, David Ayers and his wife, Catherine, Lisa Drew, Bryan Drew and his wife, Dianne, Karen Perley and her husband, Scott, John M. Tracy Jr. and his wife, Karen, Michael S. Tracy and his fiancée, Sarah Hoomis, and Kathleen Day. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Andrew and Huston Walsh, Julia Vient, Marjorie Caulfield, and Grace Cole.

ARRANGEMENTS: Helen’s Funeral Service will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, on Saturday, at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation prior to the service will begin at 10 a.m.
