Salem, MA — Benjamin “Ben” Scott Henderson, age 22, of Salem, died unexpectedly in Salem on Saturday night, September 29, 2012.
Born in Salem, Ben is the son of Mary Brennan Strong of Salem and Scott Henderson of Salem. He graduated from Salem High School in the Class of 2009. A loving son and brother with a positive attitude, he always had a smile a mile wide, while enjoying life. He was the person who was always there to help others. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a person with a heart of gold and always full of energy. He was a funny person with a great sense of humor.
A three-sport athlete at Salem High School, he was a Varsity letterman in both Football and Baseball during all four years of his high school career. He was also a member of the Wrestling team during his freshman year.
Since his graduation, Ben has been employed by the City of Salem Park and Recreation Department, UPS and has been employed in construction refinishing hardwood floors.
In addition to his parents, Ben is survived by his brother, Bryan Henderson, of Gloucester and his sister, Rachel Henderson, of Peabody and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012, at 11 AM, St. James Church, 156 Federal St., Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (corner of North Street), Salem. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
