Beverly — Mrs. Mary Alice (Ambrose) Fielding, 76, wife of the late Robert A. Fielding III, died on Friday, July 5, 2013, at Beverly Hospital following a brief illness.
Born and raised in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Herbert A. and Ethel F. (Hurst) Ambrose. She graduated from Beverly High School.
Mrs. Fielding had been employed for many years as a bookkeeper at the former Essex Bank until the time of her retirement.
A lifelong resident of the City of Beverly, she was a member and past president of the American Legion Herman E. Spear Post Auxiliary in Beverly. She was also and avid book reader and enjoyed crocheting. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her.
Mary’s family would also like to thank the Beverly PACE Program for their care and compassion over the past few years.
She is survived by her children, Frank F. Fielding and his wife, Kathy, of Beverly, Robert A. Fielding and his companion, Cheryl, of Peabody, Louise Scialdone of Beverly, Laura Fielding of Gloucester, Penny McNeil and her husband, Frank, of Salisbury, Andrew J. Fielding and his wife, Lynn, of Florida, and Don Fielding of Beverly; a daughter-in-law, Bernadette Fielding of Beverly; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Ross of Brea, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Louise of Epping, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Steven Fielding, and sister of the late Ethel Liacos.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Herman E. Spear Post #331, 3 Judson St., Beverly, on Sunday, August 18, at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
