lynn — Mrs. Frances C. (Zinner) Gilmore, 92, formerly of Lynn, Peabody, and Naples, Fla., died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Northwood Rehab and Healthcare in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert H. Gilmore.
Born and raised in Lynn, Frances was the daughter of the late Fred J. and Alice G. (Garrity) Zinner. She graduated from Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1937. Frances was a longtime hostess at Rolly’s Restaurant and Kowloon’s Restaurant. She enjoyed cruises and traveling, especially to Las Vegas with her son, Bill. Frances was dedicated and devoted to her family, putting them above all else in life.
She is survived by her sons, Fred Gilmore of Fla., and William Gilmore of Peabody; daughter, Donna Smith of Lowell; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Frances is predeceased by her son, Robert “Bobby” Gilmore Jr.; daughter, Lois Gilmore; granddaughter, Cheryl O’Brien; and sisters, Alice Colucci, Dottie Cullivan and Mildred Holland.
ARRANGEMENTS: Mrs. Gilmore’s Funeral will be held from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 571 Boston St., Lynn, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn.
