Salem — Gertrude (Beaulieu) Theriault-Fontaine, 85, died Sunday morning at the Atrium Assisted Living in Danvers. She was the wife of the late Wilfred L. Fontaine.
Gert was born in Salem, and was the daughter of the late Cyris and Leda (Godbout) Beaulieu. A resident of Salem for many years, Gertrude loved to cook and had worked in the cafeteria of the former St. Joseph's Grammar School in Salem. She was a member of the former St. Joseph's Parish, and more recently of Ste. Anne's Parish in Salem.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald Theriault and his wife, Elaine, of Auburndale, Fla., and Roger Theriault and his wife, Lorraine, of Topsfield, Mass.; a stepdaughter, Susan Bergeron and her husband, Roger, of Newburyport, Mass.; three sisters, Yolande Voisine and her husband, Alban, of Montreal, Canada, and Gracia Beaulieu and Andrea Boulet of New Brunswick, Canada; one brother, Roger Beaulieu and his wife, Pauline, also of New Brunswick; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Gertrude was the stepmother of the late Donald Fontaine, and sister of the late Lucien Beaulieu, Roland Beaulieu, Jeanne Bosse, and Lillian Gagnon.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Berube and Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St., Salem, Route.1A/114, on Thursday at 8 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in Ste. Anne's Church, 292 Jefferson Ave, Salem, at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are invited.
