Danvers, MA — Robert E. Keenan Sr., 74, of Danvers died peacefully Sunday, July 7, 2013, at his residence with family at his side. He was the husband of the late Christina (West) Keenan.
Born in Boston in 1938, he was the son of Frank and Evangeline Keenan. Robert was employed as a mechanic with Osram Sylvania for many years. He was a member of the leather workers union, enjoyed playing poker, and dining at Sam & Joes.
He served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps. during the Korean Conflict. He was an active communicant of St. Mary's Parish, Danvers.
Mr. Keenan leaves his four children, Candy Keenan-Ward and her husband, Kevin, Cindi Mumbauer and her husband, John, Robert E. Keenan Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and Randall Keenan and his wife, Susan. He was the brother of Walter "Jack" Keenan of Salem, and brother in-law to David West of West Newbury, and Ralph West of Groveland. He also leaves his loving grandchildren, Corey, Crystal, Julia Mumbauer, Riley, Jaxon Ward, and Savannah, Annabella and Danielle Keenan. He was predeceased by a daughter, Crystal Keenan.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly welcome to visitation on Thursday evening in the Mackey Funeral Home, 22 Conant St., Danvers, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Robert on Friday, at 9 a.m., in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Danvers.
