Marblehead — Kenneth Byron Lissack, 81, of Marblehead, entered into rest on February 7, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Goldstein) Lissack.
Born in Swampscott, he was the son of the late Samuel and Rose (Valdofsky) Lissack. He attended Lynn schools, and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1950. He later graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnical Institute in 1954.
Ken’s career as a professional mechanical engineer began with his father’s business, S.A. Lissack Co., of Lynn. He was later employed at Fallon-Williams of Belmont, and later operated his own business, HVAC Consulting Services of Marblehead.
He was a member of the Edison Bowling League for over 50 years, the Massachusetts Society of Professional Engineers, and was a lifelong member of A.E. Phi Fraternity at Rensselaer Polytechnical Institute. He was a member of Temple Emanu-El of Marblehead for over 48 years.
In addition to his wife, he leaves three children, Michael Lissack of Naples, Fla., Jeffrey Lissack and his wife, Meryl, of Newton, and Linda Lissack of Hartford, Conn. He was the brother of Elaine Rubin of Marblehead, Joanne Schwartz and her husband, Richard, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Brenda Barry and her husband, Arthur, of Swampscott. He was the brother-in-law of Dr. Richard Goldstein and his wife, Pat, of New Albany, Ind. Ken is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and his beloved grand-dog, Zeus.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services will be held at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St., Salem, Mass., on Tuesday, February 11, at 4 p.m. Memorial observance will be held following services at Salem Waterfront Hotel, 225 Derby Street, Salem, on Tuesday, from approximately 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and also at the same location on Wednesday, February 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be sent to the charity of your choice.
