Salem — Margaret R. Hagerty, 91, of Salem, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House.
She lived her entire life in her family homestead where she was born the daughter of the late Edward and Nellie Frances (Fitzgerald) Hagerty. Miss Hagerty attended St. James Elementary School and graduated from St. James High School.
Following her graduation from secretarial school, Miss Hagerty became employed as a bookkeeper by Haskel and Hall of Salem. Later, she was employed by the former Pickering Oil Company of Salem and retired from the Salem Water Department.
A life-long parishioner of St. James, Miss Hagerty had been an active member of the St. James Socialites.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be on Saturday, April, 20, 2013, at 9:15 a.m. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem, to be followed by a funeral Mass at St. James Church, 156 Federal St, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. At the family’s request there are no visiting hours. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
