Salem, MA — Allen A. Janard, 55, of Salem, died on Saturday, November 30, 2013, in Salem. He was the son of Hildegard Janard of Salem and Allen Janard of Beverly.
Born in Beverly, Allen was educated in Salem schools, and graduated from Salem High School. He worked for many years with Boston Chimney, and also worked for himself as a carpenter and mason. Allen was a longtime member of the Laborer's Local 22 Union. He was an avid Boston sports fan, and enjoyed going to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun to play poker competitively.
Allen was a generous and kindhearted person, and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Along with his parents, Allen is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Kathy Hall of Salem; four sisters, Lucy Coleman and her husband, William, of Salem, Helen Janard Hensley and her husband, Steve, of Peabody, Carol Janard of Salem, and Hilda Mekelatos and her husband, John, of Beverly; a brother, Manny Janard of Peabody; and several nieces and nephews. Allen was predeceased by his sister, Darlene Janard.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette Street, Route 1A/114, Salem, on Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m., in the funeral home.
