Peabody — Mrs. Lorraine M. (Petrianos) Lastih, 84, of Peabody, beloved wife of the late Edward J. Lastih, died Wednesday December 4, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving daughter and care givers.
Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Anton) Petrianos. She was raised and educated in Haverhill and also in Beverly.
A loving wife and mother, Lorraine took great pride in providing a warm and caring home for her family.
In her retirement years, Lorraine had been employed with the City of Peabody School Department as a Bus Monitor.
A longtime resident of the City of Peabody, Lorraine was a devoted mother who will be deeply missed by all of those she had known throughout her life.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter and care giver, Debra Lastih of Peabody. She also leaves her two beloved cats, Sophie and Daniel Striped Tiger, who gave her great joy and comfort....a truly unconditional love.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the North Shore and Greater Boston for their consummate care, love and support; The VNA for their unparalleled comfort and devotion; The amazing staff at the Rosewood Nursing Home during Lorraine's many stays there for extended periods; and her numerous Doctors and staff at the Lahey North.
A special loving gratitude to Mary Holden who was at Lorraine's side for this entire journey. Also special hugs to Lucille, Angela, Barbara, Baine, Casey, and Dick Jarvis for their countless hours supporting Lorraine and sitting by her side without hesitation. Lorraine's friends and neighbors at the "Courtyards" as they are the best folks ever and we thank them for their tremendous efforts in helping to make things easier for the family, always being there.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service which will be held in The O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (At Salem Common), Salem, Saturday, December 7, at 11 a.m. visiting hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn.
