Charles "Fred" Glancey, 77


Peabody — Charles “Fred” Glancey of Peabody, passed away at the Lahey Clinic on June 8, 2013. He was 77 years old. Beloved husband of Patricia A. (McGrath) Glancey. Loving father of Shaun L. Glancey and his companion, Heather Blair, of Bristol, Conn., Michelle L. Glancey and her companion, Neil Keener, of Denver, Colo., Scott Glancey and his wife, Gloria, of Cromwell, Conn. Loving brother of Michael “Bud” Glancey and his wife, Carol. Loving brother-in-law of Genie Hartung, Matthew McGrath and his wife, Laura. Loving cousin and friend of Al Glancey and his wife, Carolyn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Fred was a U.S. Army veteran. He started his own travel business, Fredrickson Associates, after retiring from Japan Airlines. He spent over 50 years in the travel industry. A self taught musician and graduate of AIC, Fred founded his own group, The Bally Beags, and performed on television, radio, and at various venues. Being active in his community, he always found the time to perform at VA Hospitals for the veterans. Fred was also an avid golfer with a rear handicap of zero.
