Edward J. Hogan, 72


Danvers, MA — Edward John Hogan, of Haverhill and Danvers, died peacefully on June 12 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Salem, he was the son of Edward J. Hogan and Audrey (Bernardi) Hogan of Peabody. He graduated from St. Mary’s of Lynn and Merrimack College. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he was employed as a teacher in the Middleton and Peabody school systems. Ed then owned and operated Olde Salem Contractors of Danvers for over 25 years.

After relocating to Wenatchee, Wash., with his family, Ed was employed by CC & D Contracting as an estimator. He also served as a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus and was actively involved in KC Help, a branch of the Knights of Columbus, which provides medical equipment to people who are in need. He and his family later returned to Massachusetts to be closer to his beloved grandchildren, where he enjoyed mentoring and coaching youth basketball, and indulging his passion for carving and observing nature.

Predeceased by his son, Edward John III, he is survived by his wife, Frances (Sirois) Hogan; son, Jonathan; daughters, Patricia and her husband, Anthony Calascibetta, of Danvers, and Kathleen Hogan and her husband, Timothy Ouellette, of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Julia and Michael Calascibetta and Madison Ouellette; sister, Ruth Bitchell of Byfield; brothers, Lawrence Hogan and wife, Debra, of Boxford, Stephen Hogan and wife, Judy, of Bradford; and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visitation on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Mackey Funeral Home, 22 Conant St., Danvers, Mass. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9 a.m. in St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish, Danvers. Burial to follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
