Danvers, MA — Mrs. Kathryn M. McGinnity, 96, a longtime resident of Danvers and formerly of New York, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2013, at Rosewood Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late James R. McGinnity.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Kathryn (McHugh) and Michael Kelly, she was raised in New York and moved to Danvers in the 1940s. She was married to her beloved husband, Jim, for over 60 years.
She was an active and dedicated member of her church, a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, and golfing. She was active in and volunteered for many charitable organizations.
She leaves behind her children, James McGinnity and his wife, Nancy, of Danvers, Kathryn Perrella and her husband, Dewey, of Peabody, and Betsy McGinnity of Middleton; her seven grandchildren, Jamie, Michael, Shawn, Jenn, Jeff, Dewey and Amy; as well as seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother and sisters, John, Marion and Sarah Kelly.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visitation on Monday evening in the Mackey Funeral Home, 22 Conant St., Danvers, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Danvers.
